It was one to learn from for our Manly Warringah 3rd, who came off second best against Sydney University 3rd on Saturday at Marrickville Oval.
Our totals were 9/200 and 4/80, against Sydney University 3rd's 9/201. A classy 81 from Jack Melchiore was the highlight. George Cumming passed fifty on the way to 56 with four fours and three sixes. Lewis Wells claimed four for 75 for the hosts.
Sam Webber picked up three for 28 off seven overs. Cumming backed up well, taking three for 49. Credit to Edward Shand, who made a century (107) for our opponents. The hosts also got 38 from Ollie Meadows.
There were some fine individual efforts to build on. It's two defeats on the trot, and the group will be eager to bounce back. Congratulations to our opponents on the win.
